CBP, CBSA to conduct NEXUS and FAST Enrollment Event at Oroville/Osoyoos Port of Entry

OROVILLE, Wash. — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Field Operations would like to announce dates for an upcoming NEXUS and FAST enrollment event held by CBP and Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) at the Oroville/Osoyoos land border Port of Entry.  The event will take place on Sept. 12-13, where CBP and CBSA will conduct interviews for conditionally approved FAST/NEXUS applicants.   

NEXUS Enrollment on Arrival

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), in partnership with Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), have begun offering NEXUS applicants the option of a two-step interview process for air travelers. The eight Canadian airport enrollment centers will be staffed with CBSA officers who will complete the Canadian portion of the NEXUS interview, and the U.S. interview with CBP will follow at Canadian airport preclearance locations for applicants departing from Canada to the United States.

NEXUS Enrollment Centers to reopen in Canada

WASHINGTON — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), in partnership with Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), announced today the reopening of NEXUS enrollment centers at eight Canadian airports in an effort to expand the NEXUS program’s capacity and help enroll the thousands of applicants awaiting interviews.

Beginning today, travelers can book interviews at the following airports, with interview start dates listed below:

CBP and CBSA Implement NEXUS and FAST Processing in Houlton, Maine

HOULTON, Maine – Today, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced the opening of a new NEXUS/Free and Secure Trade (FAST) Enrollment Center in Houlton, Maine. NEXUS and FAST applicants can schedule an interview for the Houlton Enrollment Center before its opening on February 10, 2023. CBP and CBSA Officers will work in conjunction to conduct joint interviews.  

Canada and United States Announce New NEXUS Interview Option to Expand Enrollment Capacity

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) are moving forward with a new option to increase the enrollment capacity for new and renewing NEXUS members. The binational NEXUS program benefits communities on both sides of the Canada-U.S. border by supporting economic growth and trade, reducing border congestion, and expediting the crossing of low-risk, pre-approved travelers.

CBP Surpasses 10 Million TTP Members

WASHINGTON – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Trusted Traveler Programs topped 10 million total members during the month of March, and is expected to receive 3.5 million applications for this fiscal year, the most the program has ever received in one year.

Nearly 8 million of these memberships are part of the Global Entry program, which is available at 61 U.S. airports and 15 international Preclearance locations. A portion of the membership is also made up of citizens from the program’s 13 partner countries.

Third-Party Sites Unnecessary for TTP Enrollment

WASHINGTON—Officers at U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) have noticed an increasing number of third-party sites attempting to mimic official U.S. government websites or claiming to assist with applying for the Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP), including Global Entry, Sentri, FAST and NEXUS. While this may seem like a convenient alternative, these companies can be quite expensive to the traveler and are not necessary.
