CBP emite consejos a medida que comienzan los viajes de verano en el Caribe

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico— Las operaciones en el Caribe de Aduanas y Protección Fronteriza (CBP) anunció hoy una serie de recomendaciones para los viajeros, ya que se espera un aumento en el número de llegadas internacionales a partir de este fin de semana como parte de la temporada de viajes de verano.

El fin de semana del Día de la Recordación (Memorial Day) marca el comienzo de la temporada de viajes de verano y, con ella, un aumento anticipado en el número de llegadas internacionales a los aeropuertos de Puerto Rico y las Islas Vírgenes estadounidenses.

CBP Issues Tips as Caribbean Summer Travel Starts

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) operations in the Caribbean issued a public recommendation today for travelers, as an increase in the number of international arrivals is expected to start this weekend as part of the summer travel season.

Memorial Day weekend marks the start of the summer travel season and with it an anticipated increment in the number of international arrivals to airports in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.

Expedited Consequences for Illegal Crossings Along the Northern Border

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Since March 13, 2023, U.S. Border Patrol’s Swanton Sector, in conjunction with federal partners, has increased its expedited repatriation process for individuals illegally crossing the northern border into the United States. 

This repatriation process includes additional personnel support, transportation logistics, optimized processes across the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Department of Justice, and coordination between the State Department and foreign countries. 

CBP Updates Operational Hours at North Troy and West Berkshire Ports of Entry

VERMONT — On Friday, April 7, 2023, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that it would update hours of operations at two ports of entry (POE) in Vermont, North Troy and West Berkshire. Both POEs will open at 8:00 am on April 15, 2023, and will then operate 24 hours, 7 days a week, aligning with adjacent Canada Border Services Agency ports. 

Agriculture Specialists in Chicago Have a Busy January Intercepting More Than 5,100 Prohibited Items

CHICAGO–U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agriculture Specialists (CBPAS) and their canines have been busy inspecting arriving passengers at O’Hare International Airport, sniffing mail at the International Mail Facility (IMF) near O’Hare, examining arriving rail and ocean cargo, and checking parcels at a nearby express consignment facility. In the month of January, CBPAS have stopped 5,162 prohibited items to include concealed hatching eggs, dried cow skin, dried rodents and various other plants and meats.
