Border Patrol Breaks Ground on New Station in Champlain, New York

CHAMPLAIN, NY – On August 2, Swanton Sector Border Patrol conducted a ground-breaking ceremony in Champlain, NY., commemorating the beginning of construction on a new Border Patrol Station.

The 36,000-square-foot facility is scheduled for completion in August 2025 and is designed to accommodate 50 Border Patrol agents and support staff.

CBP Temporarily Closing Alburg Springs Port of Entry for Port Construction

ALBURG, VT – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has announced the temporary closure of the Alburg Springs, Vermont (VT) Port of Entry (POE) beginning on October 3, 2022, due to port construction. The temporary closure is necessary to ensure the safety of travelers and officers during the construction periods between October 3 and October 21, 2022. 

Construction Will Commence at Otay Mesa Pedestrian Building Without Interrupted Operations

OTAY MESA, Calif., - The Otay Mesa port of entry is announcing upcoming construction to the northbound pedestrian booths beginning September 12 as part of a larger modernization and expansion project. 

Once travelers proceed north, they will see signage outside directing them to enter through the rightmost door. Some doors with access into the building will be temporarily closed off to accommodate the installation of the new, permanent inspection booths inside the building.

Re-opening of Limestone Port of Entry Postponed 30 Days Due to Construction Delays

HOULTON, ME — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will be extending the temporary suspension of operations at the Limestone, Maine Port of Entry due to ongoing reconstruction and upgrades to the facility.

The Port of Limestone temporarily closed on July 1, 2021, to all cross-border traffic. The updated re-opening date is approximated to be on or before April 1, 2022.
