Baltimore CBP Officer Helps Nab Fleeing Virginia Rape Suspect in Peru

BALTIMORE – A Stafford County, Va., rape suspect is behind bars in Peru due to the quick actions of the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Marshals Service, and a quick-thinking U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer.

Geronimo Johnny Neyra, a 70-year-old naturalized U.S. citizen from Peru, is behind bars in Lima, Peru pending extradition to Stafford County on 12 counts of aggravated sexual acts against a 10-year-old child.

AMO Seizes 2,776 Pounds Cocaine Found in Hidden Compartments of Two Vessels in Southern Puerto Rico

FAJARDO, Puerto Rico— US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Air and Marine Operations detected and seized a load of 2,776 pounds (1,259 kilograms) of cocaine found inside hidden compartments of two vessels that intended to reach the southern town Patillas Puerto Rico Thursday afternoon.  The estimated street value of the seized cocaine is approximately $28.9 million. 

Border Patrol arrests Mexican national wanted for murder

EL PASO, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol Agents from El Paso Sector apprehended a Mexican national with an outstanding warrant for murder on Wednesday. 

Border Patrol Agents assigned to the Ysleta Anti-Smuggling Unit (ASU) were alerted by El Paso Sector Integrated Targeting Team regarding a subject in San Elizario with an outstanding warrant for murder in Mexico. The subject was located near Socorro by the ASU unit and taken into custody.

U.S. Border Patrol urges migrants to not endanger their lives by swimming across U.S./Mexico maritime boundary line

IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif – U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) agents assigned to the Imperial Beach Station continue to see migrants illegally enter the United States by swimming through the Pacific Ocean.

During the month of May, there have been five recorded events in which migrants swam across the maritime boundary line. During these events, seven migrants were apprehended while nine managed to swim back to Mexico before agents could apprehend them.

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico—Aduanas y Protección Fronteriza (CBP, por sus siglas en inglés) presentó hoy una denuncia penal contra cuatro migrantes, tres de República Dominicana y uno de Haití, por conducta ante personal de la Guardia Costera estadounidense luego de interceptar una embarcación aproximadamente a 17 millas náuticas al noroeste de Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.
