The U.S. Border Patrol El Paso Sector Kicks off 21st Border Safety Initiative
EL PASO, TX--The United States Border Patrol El Paso Sector, in collaboration with the General Consulate of Mexico in El Paso and other GoM law enforcement agencies as well as other local law enforcement agencies are joining forces with the goal of preserving human life.
Representatives from several agencies will participate in the 21st Annual “Border Safety Initiative (BSI) Awareness Campaign” in an effort to raise awareness on both sides of the international border. The campaign is designed to warn border residents about extremely dangerous situations that can be encountered when illegally entering the United States.
A simulated rescue demonstration will be provided by U.S. Border Patrol Agents Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT), Border Patrol Search Trauma and Rescue Team (BORSTAR) and the El Paso Branch of Air and Marine Operations (AMO). All media are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes, and to bring sunscreen and water.
