Border Patrol Agent Raymond E. Rivera has been chosen for inclusion in the DHS Faces of Homeland Security series
This web-based feature tells the remarkable stories behind the men and women on the front lines of DHS and local partners who have been working at every level to prevent terrorism, secure U.S. borders, enforce immigration laws, safeguard cyberspace and prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.
Agent Rivera was selected for his work in disrupting human trafficking rings in Nogales, Ariz., which was undertaken at great personal risk. Rivera went undercover to arrange the purchase and delivery of illegal Iranian passports and to arrange to smuggle Iranian national nationals in the United States. His actions thwarted a major security threat and resulted in more than two-dozen felony prosecutions.
