I am pleased to announce the selection of Ronald D. Vitiello as Chief of the U.S. Border Patrol, effective Feb. 1, 2017. Chief Vitiello is uniquely qualified for this important senior executive leadership post – which is equivalent to an Executive Assistant Commissioner position – having served as Acting Chief from Dec. 1, 2015 until July 20, 2016, when he was appointed Executive Assistant Commissioner for Operations Support
