Statement on USBP-involved shooting

GAUTHIER, MS—On Tuesday, at approximately 9:30 AM, a U.S. Border Patrol agent was involved in a shooting while assisting U.S. Marshals with serving a warrant in Gauthier, MS. The individual fired upon the agent and other law enforcement officers on scene, who in turn, returned fire. Neither the agent nor the suspect were injured in the exchange. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
