I would like to congratulate U.S. Customs and Border Protection Deputy Commissioner Kevin A. McAleenan on the U.S. Travel Association 2016 Distinguished Travel Champion Award. This award highlights the outstanding accomplishments of Deputy Commissioner McAleenan and the entire CBP family for championing government-wide initiatives to create a more welcoming environment for travelers coming to America while maintaining the security mission. I would particularly like to thank Deputy Commissioner McAleenan for his leadership on streamlining the customs and entry process for visitors to the U.S. I am continually proud of the hard work and commitment the men and women of CBP exhibit every day to actively facilitate travel to the United States while ensuring the highest levels of security throughout our nation.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of our nation's borders at and between the official ports of entry. CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
