WASHINGTON— U.S. Customs and Border Protection recently announced the selection of Mr. Robert McMillan as the Executive Director of Regulatory Audit within the Office of Trade.
“Mr. McMillan’s vast experience and leadership will support CBP’s commitment to its 2020 Vision and Strategy, Delivering safety, security, and prosperity through collaboration, innovation, and integration,” said Commissioner R. Gil Kerlikowske.
Mr. McMillan joins CBP with over twenty years of experience in the private sector, where he served in various leadership capacities in audit, finance, and transformation within the health care, financial services, and consumer products industries.
Most recently, Mr. McMillan served as Chief Financial Officer and Audit and Compliance Officer for AmeriHealth Caritas/Chartered Health Plan. Prior to that role, Mr. McMillan served as the Chief Executive Director of Audit, Finance, Privacy, and Procurement for Blue Cross Blue Shield, where he oversaw the global administration of the Federal Employee Health Benefit Plan. During his tenure at Blue Cross Blue Shield, Mr. McMillan also served as Director of Sarbanes-Oxley and Compliance and Manager of e-Commerce.
Prior to his work in the healthcare industries, Mr. McMillan spent a portion of his career serving in several leadership capacities with Motorola as an integral member of the Business Transformation Office.
Mr. McMillan earned a Bachelor's Degree in Finance from Virginia State University and a Master’s of Business Administration and Master’s of Information Technology from the Johns Hopkins University.
