YUMA, Ariz. – At approximately 8:27 p.m., Wellton Station agents working at the checkpoint referred a white 2010 Scion xB to the secondary inspection area following a Border Patrol canine alert. Agents discovered a 9 MM Taurus PR handgun as well as 5 grams of methamphetamine. Record checks on the pistol revealed it to be stolen.
The driver, a 55-year-old U.S. citizen from Lakeside, was arrested for possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a controlled substance.
