Woman Passes Away in Arizona Hospital

TUCSON, Ariz.--On Oct 13, Tucson Sector Border Patrol was notified of a 33-year-old woman from Mexico in need of medical care who was found by a Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputy near Tubac, Arizona. The woman was immediately taken by EMS to an area hospital for further evaluation and care, and where she received treatment while in U.S. Border Patrol custody. U.S. Customs and Border Protection is saddened to report that the individual succumbed to her injuries while still in the hospital, and was pronounced deceased by medical authorities on Saturday, Oct 26 at 11:44 a.m.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of our nation's borders at and between official ports of entry. CBP is charged with securing the borders of the United States while enforcing hundreds of laws and facilitating lawful trade and travel.
