USBP Agents Arrest Sureño Gang Member
INDIO, Calif. – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector arrested a gang member Friday afternoon.
The incident occurred at about 3 p.m., when Indio Border Patrol Station received a call from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) requesting assistance with two individuals in their custody. BLM transported the two individuals to the Indio Station and after further investigation it was determined that both individuals were illegally present in the United States. BLM turned over the two undocumented individuals to the Indio Station.
The two individuals were taken into custody and were transported to the El Centro Sector Processing Center for further processing.
Records checks revealed one of the undocumented individuals a 39-year-old Mexican national, is a self-admitted Sureño (South Side Family) gang member with criminal and immigration history. He has multiple re-entries after deportation and was previously ordered removed from the U.S. by an immigration judge.
U.S. Border Patrol will process both undocumented individuals accordingly.
