U.S. Border Patrol Weekly Blotter, Blaine Sector September 12-25, 2013

BLAINE, WASH.—The information listed below is from arrests and seizures related to the U.S. Border Patrol in the Blaine Sector area of operations. For security reasons, this may not be a complete list of enforcement actions.

09/12/2013 - While patrolling the border, agents discovered three people hiding near an abandoned trailer in close proximity to the U.S./Canada border near Lynden, Washington. The subjects, citizens of India, illegally present in the United States were placed under arrest and processed for removal.

09/13/2013 - Agents received a report from a concerned citizen regarding a person who had just illegally crossed the U.S./Canada border near Blaine, Washington. Responding agents located the individual, determined to be a citizen of India illegally present in the United States. The subject was placed under arrest and processed for removal.

09/17/2013 - Agents encountered an individual walking near the U.S./Canada border east of Blaine, Washington. The subject, a citizen of Sweden, determined to be a visa overstay and illegally present in the United States, was placed under arrest and processed for removal. The subject's stated intention was to illegally enter into Canada.

09/19/2013 - U.S. Border Patrol agents observed a vehicle leaving an area of the U.S./Canada border known for illicit cross-border activity west of Sumas, Washington. Agents stopped the vehicle and determined the driver to be a citizen of Mexico illegally present in the United States. The subject was placed under arrest and processed for reinstatement of a prior order of removal.

09/22/2013 - Agents responded to a citizen's report of a person near the U.S./Canada border in Sumas, Washington. Agents located the individual, a citizen of Canada illegally present in the United States. The subject was placed under arrest and processed removal.

09/23/2013 - While patrolling the border west of Sumas, Washington, U.S. Border Patrol agents observed an individual illegally cross the U.S./Canada border. Agents apprehended the subject, a citizen of Honduras, who attempted to hide in a ditch just south of the international border. The subject was placed under arrest and processed for reinstatement of a prior order of removal.

09/25/2013 - While patrolling the border northeast of Lynden, Washington, agents observed a group of four people illegally cross the U.S./Canada border and get into a vehicle. Agents performed a stop of the vehicle and determined the driver to be a citizen of Mexico illegally present in the United States. The four passengers, who had just illegally crossed the border, were all determined to be citizens of India. The four passengers of the vehicle were placed under arrest and processed for removal. The driver, who had been previously removed from the United States three times, was turned over to the Whatcom County Sheriff's Department on an active warrant. An immigration detainer will be placed on the subject.
