U.S. Border Patrol Weekly Blotter, Blaine Sector May 2 - May 15, 2013
BLAINE, WASH.—The information listed below is from arrests and seizures related to the U.S. Border Patrol in the Blaine Sector area of operations. For security reasons, this may not be a complete list of enforcement actions.
05/02/2013 - While conducting patrol duties agents encountered a vehicle parked in a heavily wooded area known for illegal activity near the United States/Canada border east of Sumas, Wash. Agents questioned the two occupants as to why they were parked in the remote area. During questioning it was determined that one of the subjects had an active warrant out of Marysville, Wash. The subject was turned over to the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office.
05/03/2013 - Operators of a Remote Video Surveillance System witnessed three subjects illegally cross the U.S./Canada border near Lynden, Wash. Agents responded to the area and located the group walking southbound from the international border. It was determined that all three were citizens of India who were illegally present in the United States. The group was placed under arrest and processed for removal.
05/07/2013 - A Remote Video Surveillance System operator observed two subjects illegally cross the U.S./Canada border in Blaine, Wash. Agents responded to the area and located the pair attempting to conceal themselves in some bushes. It was determined that both suspects were citizens of India who were illegally present in the United States. Both were placed under arrest and processed for removal.
05/08/2013 - Agents witnessed a group of four people illegally enter the United States from Canada in an area known for smuggling east of Blaine, Wash. All subjects were determined to be citizens of South Korea illegally present in the United States. The group was placed under arrest and processed for removal.
05/08/2013 - Operators of a Remote Video Surveillance System witnessed a subject illegally cross the U.S./Canada border and get into a waiting vehicle in Blaine, Wash. As the vehicle was stopped the passenger ran from the car and attempted to conceal himself in some nearby bushes. Both subjects were taken into custody. The driver of the vehicle, who entered the United States as a visitor from Canada, violated his status. It was determined that the passenger was a citizen of Canada who was inadmissible for entry and illegally present in the United States. The vehicle was processed for seizure and both subjects were processed for removal.
05/09/2013 - A concerned citizen reported a suspicious individual near the United States/Canada border east of Lynden, Wash. Agents responded to the area and located the person attempting to hide in a nearby berry field. The subject, a citizen of India, was determined to be illegally present in the United States. The subject was placed under arrest and processed for removal.
