BLAINE, WASH.—The information listed below is from arrests and seizures related to the U.S. Border Patrol in the Blaine Sector area of operations. For security reasons, this may not be a complete list of enforcement actions.

03/29/2013 - A concerned citizen reported a suspicious individual near the United States/Canada border in Blaine, Washington. U.S. Border Patrol agents responded to the area and located the subject, a citizen of El Salvador illegally present in the United States. A records check indicated that the subject had been previously removed from the United States. The subject was placed under arrest and processed for reinstatement of a prior order of removal.

04/02/2013 - Agents encountered a pair of camouflaged subjects carrying backpacks near the United States/Canada border east of Sumas, Washington. When agents attempted to make contact with the pair, one subject fired a weapon and fled into the woods. The second subject, a citizen of Canada, was apprehended after a brief foot chase. The Canadian citizen was placed under arrest and processed for removal. The recovered backpacks contained 58.2 pounds of an amphetamine-based product later determined to be ecstasy. The drugs were processed for seizure. Subsequently, the second subject was later apprehended in Abbotsford, B.C., Canada by the Abbotsford Police Department.

04/11/2013 - Agents were notified by a concerned citizen who witnessed a person illegally cross the U.S./Canada border near Blaine, Washington. The subject, a citizen of the Republic of Georgia, was located and determined to be illegally present in the United States. A records check indicated that the subject had been previously removed from the United States. The subject was placed under arrest and processed for reinstatement of a prior order of removal.

04/15/2013 - A concerned citizen reported a suspicious individual wearing wet and dirty clothing near the United States/Canada border west of Sumas, Washington. Agents responded to the area and located the subject, a citizen of Israel, illegally present in the United States. A records check indicated that the subject had been previously removed from the United States. The subject was placed under arrest and processed for reinstatement of a prior order of removal.
