U.S. Border Patrol Weekly Blotter, Blaine Sector Apr. 26 - May 2

Blaine, Wash. - The information listed below is from arrests and seizures related to CBP U.S. Border Patrol in the Blaine Sector area of operations. For security reasons, this may not be a complete list of enforcement actions.

04/27/2012- U.S. Border Patrol agents apprehended a citizen of Mexico near the Peace Arch State Park who was found to be illegally in the United States. The subject had prior arrests for Driving under the Influence, Drug Possession and was previously removed from the U.S. The subject was processed for reinstatement of a prior order of removal.

04/27/2012- Agents encountered two subjects during a vehicle stop west of Port Angeles, Washington who admitted to being illegally present in the United States. One subject was a citizen of Mexico who was placed under arrest and processed for removal. The second subject, a citizen of Guatemala, had been previously ordered removed from the U.S. and had a criminal history. The second subject was also placed under arrest and processed for reinstatement of a prior order of removal.

04/27/2012- U.S. Border Patrol agents apprehended three citizens of Mexico east of Blaine, Washington who were found to be illegally in the United States. Two of the subjects were wearing large backpacks when initially encountered by agents. Upon searching the backpacks it was discovered that they contained 30.260 kilograms of methamphetamine valued at $1,280,870 and 3.340 kilograms of cocaine valued at $66,805. One subject was an aggravated felon who was held without bond and processed for reinstatement of a prior order of removal. The other two subjects were processed for removal proceedings and turned over to the custody of the Drug Enforcement Administration for criminal prosecution related to narcotics trafficking.

04/29/2012- Agents responded to a request for assistance regarding an accident involving a vehicle and pedestrian east of Blaine, Washington. Agents arrived to the area to find a subject who had been struck by a vehicle. Agents comforted and provided first aid treatment to the person until Whatcom County EMS arrived. The subject was transported to St. Joseph Medical Center, was diagnosed with a concussion and received several stiches. The victim was kept overnight for observation and was released the following day.

05/02/2012- Agents observed a subject illegally enter the United States in a field east of the Sumas Port of Entry. When confronted, the subject freely admitted to being a citizen of South Korea who had illegally entered the U.S. The subject was placed under arrest and processed for removal.
