Del Rio, Texas - U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Carrizo Springs Station seized 25 pounds of cocaine, valued at more than $800,000 on Monday.
At approximately 11 a.m., a 2006 Acura entered the immigration checkpoint on Highway 277 west of Carrizo Springs. The vehicle, driven by a United States citizen, was referred to a secondary inspection area where agents searched the vehicle and found 10 bricks of cocaine concealed within a hidden compartment under the rear seat. The smuggler, vehicle and cocaine were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
