U.S. Border Patrol Blotter, Blaine Sector November 15 – December 4, 2013

BLAINE, WASH.—The information listed below is from arrests and seizures related to the U.S. Border Patrol in the Blaine Sector area of operations.  For security reasons, this may not be a complete list of enforcement actions.

11/16/2013 – Late in the evening, U.S. Border Patrol agents witnessed a suspicious vehicle enter and exit a vacant property in close proximity to the U.S./Canada border west of Sumas, Washington.  When agents searched the surrounding area they encountered an individual attempting to hide in the brush.  Agents determined the person to be a citizen of India, illegally present in the United States.  The subject was arrested and processed for removal.  

11/20/2013 – While patrolling the international border east of Sumas, Washington, agents encountered two individuals walking on a trail.  The trail is located in a remote area commonly used for smuggling people and contraband.  Agents questioned the subjects and determined both to be citizens of Mexico, illegally present in the United States.  Records checks revealed that one of the individuals had been previously removed from the United States.  Both subjects were placed under arrest and processed for removal.

11/26/2013 – U.S. Border Patrol agents responded to possible late night cross-border activity east of Sumas, Washington.  When agents arrived in the area of the disturbance, they heard people walking on a wooded trail frequently used for smuggling people and contraband into the United States.  When agents announced themselves, two individuals attempted to hide in a corn field adjacent to the trail.  Agents located both individuals and determined both subjects to be citizens of India, illegally present in the United States.  The two subjects were arrested and processed for removal.  

11/27/2013 – Agents responded to a possible illegal entry into the United States near Point Roberts, Washington.  When agents arrived in the area they observed two people walking south from the international border.  Agents approached both individuals and determined them to be citizens of China, illegally present in the United States.  Both subjects were placed under arrest and processed for removal. 

11/28/2013 – During the early evening hours, agents encountered two people walking along a road not frequently used by pedestrians in close proximity to the U.S./Canada border near Lynden, Washington.  Agents questioned the two subjects and discovered both to be citizens of India, illegally present in the United States.  Agents arrested both subjects and processed them for removal

11/29/2013 – An operator of a Remote Video Surveillance System witnessed an individual walking south from the U.S./Canada border in Blaine, Washington.  Agents responded to the area and approached the subject matching the description provided.  Agents determined that the subject was a citizen of Canada, illegally present in the United States.  The subject was arrested and processed for removal.

11/29/2013 – Agents conducting routine patrols of the U.S./Canada border encountered a suspicious individual in area known for illegal cross-border activity in Blaine, Washington.  Agents questioned the person and determined the subject to be a citizen of Ethiopia, illegally present in the United States.  Records checks revealed the subject had previously been ordered removed from the United States.  The subject was placed under arrest and processed for removal.  

12/04/2013 – U.S. Border Patrol agents were notified of possible illegal cross-border activity east of Blaine, Washington by an operator of a Remote Video Surveillance System.  Agents responded to the area and located the person attempting to hide from agents by lying down in the brush.  Agents questioned the individual and determined the person to be a citizen of Canada, illegally present in the United States.  Records checks revealed the subject had been previously been removed from the United States.  Agents arrested the Canadian citizen and processed the subject for a prior order of removal.
