U.S. Border Patrol Blotter, Blaine Sector

Blaine, Wash. The information listed below is from arrests and seizures related to the U.S. Border Patrol in the Blaine Sector area of operations.  For security reasons, this may not be a complete list of enforcement actions.

01/30/2014 – During the early evening hours, U.S. Border Patrol agents observed a suspicious individual riding a bicycle away from the U.S./Canada border.  The area west of Sumas, Washington is not normally frequented by bicyclists.  The person was determined to be a citizen of the People’s Republic of China, illegally present in the United States.  The subject was placed under arrest and processed for removal.

01/31/2014 – Agents responded to a call from a concerned citizen who witnessed a person illegally cross the U.S./Canada border in Blaine, Washington.  When agents arrived in the vicinity, they witnessed an individual walking south from the reported area.  The subject, a citizen of Canada, was determined to be unlawfully present in the United States.  Record checks revealed that the Canadian citizen had been previously removed from the United States.  The subject was arrested and processed for reinstatement of a prior order of removal. 

01/31/2014 – An operator of a Remote Video Surveillance System (RVSS) observed possible illegal cross-border activity near Sumas, Washington.  Agents responded to the area and located three people attempting to conceal themselves in high grass near the international boundary.  All three subjects, citizens of India, were determined to be illegally present in the United States.  All three subjects were placed under arrest and processed for removal. 

02/04/2014 – Agents responded to a call from a concerned citizen in regards to possible illegal cross-border activity west of Sumas, Washington.  When agents arrived in the area, they observed an individual walking down a road not frequently used by pedestrians.  It was determined that the subject was a citizen of the United Kingdom, unlawfully present in the United States.  The subject was arrested and processed for reinstatement of a prior order of removal. 

02/04/2014 – Shortly before midnight, a RVSS operator witnessed three people illegally cross the U.S./Canada border in Blaine, Washington.  Agents responded to the area and located the group.  Through questioning, it was determined that two of the subjects were citizens of Spain, while the third was citizen of Canada.  All three subjects were deemed to be illegally present in the United States, were arrested and processed for removal.
