Havana, Texas - U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the McAllen station seized 682 pounds of marijuana Tuesday near Havana.
Agents on patrol observed a group of men walking north from the Rio Grande. The men were walking in an area of thick brush and carrying bundles on their backs. When the agents approached the men, they dropped their cargo and fled the area. The ten large bundles left behind contained approximately $545,600 worth of marijuana.
Agents seized the marijuana and turned it over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
