U.S. Border Patrol Agents Seize Marijuana

Yuma, Ariz. - U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Yuma Sector seized more than 297 pounds of marijuana and arrested five suspected smugglers yesterday.

Agents assigned to the Yuma Station were conducting line watch duties when they discovered that five individuals had crossed illegally from Mexico near San Luis, Ariz. After a short distance, agents arrested five individuals and seized the five bundles which contained marijuana. Through records check, it was revealed that three of the individuals were juveniles.

The marijuana, with an estimated street value of $237,000, as well as the three suspects, were turned over to Yuma Narcotics Task Force.
