A U.S. Border Patrol agent from the Saint Mary, Montana, Station aprehended a Mongolian citizen April 17.

The agent encountered the man April 17, walking southbound on U.S. Highway 17.  The man was wearing camouflage clothing and carrying a large duffel bag when he was stopped by the agent. The agent questioned the man and learned that he had illegally entered the United States from Canada by walking through the woods in a futile effort to avoid detection.

“This is a great example of how our agents exercise vigilance,” said Havre Border Patrol Sector Public Affairs Officer Michael Rappold. “They’re always ready to carry out our agency’s mission and safeguard the public.”

The individual was processed for administrative removal proceedings and turned over to Enforcement and Removal Operations with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
