KINGSVILLE, Texas — U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Kingsville Station discovered a runaway juvenile during an immigration inspection at the Sarita checkpoint on Sunday night.
During the inspection, an agent noticed a blanket covering the backseat of the vehicle and upon consent to remove the blanket, found an undocumented immigrant. During records checks, agents learned that the driver and a female juvenile passenger were United States citizens. The juvenile, discovered to be a runaway, was uninjured and it is currently unknown why she was involved in this case.
The undocumented immigrant will be processed accordingly and the driver will be referred for prosecution. The public is encouraged to take a stand against crime in their communities and to help save lives by reporting suspicious activity at 800-863-9382.
