TUCSON, Ariz. – Agents from the Sonoita Border Patrol Station arrested two illegal immigrants traveling with more than 1,000 pounds of marijuana on Saturday.
Agents stopped a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado south of Elgin, Arizona occupied by two individuals, both in the U.S. illegally. A search of the vehicle revealed 1,275 pounds of marijuana worth more than $637,000.
The driver and passenger of the pick-up are being charged with drug smuggling and being in the U.S. illegally.
