HAVRE, Mont. – In January, The Acting Chief of Blaine Sector Washington issued a challenge to all Northern Border Chief Patrol Agents via Twitter. The challenge was simple, to raise food for a local food bank with a snowball challenge. Havre Sector Chief Sean McGoffin, along with Sheriff Jaime Ross, accepted and completed the challenge, by donating 180 pounds of food to the Havre Food Bank.

To participate in the challenge, the rules stated someone needed to throw 10 snowballs at Chief McGoffin. For every snowball that struck the chief, he would donate 10 pounds of food. Chief McGoffin teamed up with Hill County Sheriff Jaime Ross to throw the snowballs and was hit 8/10 attempts.
Chief McGoffin stated “this was an excellent way to do a lighthearted activity for an excellent cause”. With the lack of snow this year, we had to wait for the right opportunity to complete the challenge. I am grateful for Sheriff Ross participating in this endeavor and pelting me with snowballs for this challenge stated Chief McGoffin. We have a wonderful working partnership with our community and Sheriff Ross. Working with Sheriff Ross and his department on activities like this helps make our community a great place to live.
