This afternoon, McAllen agents responded to a report of illegal aliens loading into a black Mazda sedan near the Bentsen State Park. Mobile units located the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The driver failed to yield and a pursuit ensued. During the pursuit, the driver struck an unoccupied vehicle and then collided with a Border Patrol unit in an attempt to escape. The driver fled the scene and agents discovered three illegal aliens inside the vehicle. Agents provided the aliens with basic medical attention and transported them to the McAllen Border Patrol Station.

Border patrol is processing the subjects accordingly.

The Rio Grande Valley Sector currently has multiple campaigns focused on rescues and danger awareness, such as “Operation Big Rig” and “No Se Arriesgue” to combat smuggling and ultimately save lives. Call 911 to report suspicious activity; “They’re humans, not cargo!”
