Scobey Border Patrol Agents Recover Stolen Goods

SCOBEY, Mont. — Agents from Scobey Border Patrol Station assisted Daniels County Sheriff’s Office in the recovery of stolen goods reported out of Minot, North Dakota.   

On Dec. 26, several stolen items from a motorsport business in Minot, were reported to police.

The stolen items from the motorsport business included a 2019 ZFORCE 1000 (side by side), 2019 HAMMERHEAD (go-kart) and a 2018 TRITON enclosed trailer. Havre Sector Intelligence Unit received reports from the Canadian Border Services Agency and Royal Canadian Mountain Police regarding the Canadian citizen suspected to be involved with this event. The suspect attempted to enter Canada with the stolen items twice.  He then left the items in the United States and returned to Canada.

Scobey Station agents searched the local area and found the trailer with the off-road vehicles tucked away in an outdoor storage facility.  The Daniels County Sheriff’s Office verified and took the stolen items into custody.  All the stolen goods are being transferred back to the rightful owners.

“This coordinated effort by law enforcement agents and officers exemplifies our mission and safeguards the public,” said Deputy Chief Patrol Agent Scott Good.  “This is a great example of utilizing inter-agency cooperation to find and return stolen goods across state lines.  Vigilance and attention to detail made this multi-agency effort work efficiently and effectively.”
