WESLACO, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Weslaco Border Patrol Station apprehended a group of 60 illegal aliens near Hidalgo, Texas.

On Saturday, agents patrolling along the Rio Grande encountered a large group of illegal aliens consisting of 25 family units (51 total subjects), seven unaccompanied children and two adults. The group was comprised of men, women and children from the countries of Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras.

All subjects will be processed accordingly.

The Rio Grande Valley Sector currently has multiple campaigns focused on rescues and danger awareness, such as “Operation Big Rig” and “No Se Arriesgue” to combat smuggling and ultimately save lives. Call 911 to report suspicious activity; “They’re humans, not cargo!”
