The largest seizure occurred Friday morning when agents assigned to the Falfurrias Station arrested a woman attempting to smuggle nearly 3,500 pounds of marijuana with an estimated value of more than $2.7 million through the checkpoint. Agents referred the woman, who is a United States citizen, to the secondary inspection area after a K-9 alerted to the tractor-trailer she was driving. Agents searched the trailer and discovered 134 bundles of marijuana. The case is currently under investigation.

Several additional seizures brought the total amount of marijuana confiscated over the weekend to more than 6,400 pounds.
