Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol agents provide medical attention to accident victim
ENCINO, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Special Operations Group (SOG) provided medical care to the driver of a vehicle involved in a rollover accident near Encino, Texas.
Falfurrias Border Patrol Station received a call from a local rancher stating that there had been a single vehicle accident on Farm to Market Road 755. The vehicle rolled over several times and was engulfed in flames. Agents arrived on the scene and immediately began to treat the driver who suffered head and neck injuries and a broken arm.
Air Med EMS transported the driver to a local hospital and the Brooks County Fire Department extinguished the fire.
Border Patrol agents are well-trained in life saving techniques and are often the first to respond to the scene of accidents due to the remote areas in which they work. It is also common for an agent to assist another agency in lifesaving efforts in responding to emergencies.
