FALFURRIAS, Texas – Border Patrol agents came to the aid of two civilians who were involved in a vehicle accident on Tuesday morning.
The rescue occurred when the pilot of an Air and Marine Operations helicopter observed a roll over involving a civilian vehicle just south of the Falfurrias Border Patrol Checkpoint on Highway 281. Agents trained as Emergency Medical Technicians and BORSTAR operators immediately responded to the area and found a white Chevrolet pickup truck on its side. Two people with multiple injuries were discovered inside the vehicle.
The agents provided care until an ambulance arrived. Both civilians were transported to Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg, Texas.
