Fri, 09/14/2018

BROWNSVILLE, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Fort Brown station encountered assaultive smugglers and a combative illegal alien.

Yesterday, agents received information of a group of approximately 30 subjects attempting an illegal entry into the United States. Responding agents arrived on scene, witnessed several men swimming back to Mexico and detained 19 subjects.

While performing the apprehensions, men on the Mexican side of the riverbank began to throw rocks and struck an agent on the shoulder. At the same time, a Guatemalan national attempted to evade apprehension and assaulted one of the apprehending agents.

Agents are processing the subjects accordingly.

The public is encouraged to take a stand against crime in their communities and to help save lives by reporting suspicious activity at 800-863-9382.
