FALFURRIAS, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents rescued 14 people from a tractor trailer atthe Falfurrias Checkpoint on Highway 281
The tractor trailer was referred for secondary inspection following a canine alert, at which time, agents discovered 14 people concealed among bags of onions. The subjects had no means of escape and agents had to assist them in exiting the trailer. The undocumented immigrants were offered medical attention but only one required medical treatment.
The driver and passenger, both Lawfully Admitted Permanent Residents from El Salvador, were arrested and referred for prosecution.
