TUCSON, Ariz. –Tucson Sector Border Patrol employees across southern Arizona donated Christmas gifts to families in need.

Agents and professional staff across Tucson Sector provided gifts for children through the U.S. Border Patrol’s yearly Angel Tree program. Donated gifts were collected and distributed to various southern Arizona organizations that assist families of limited means.

U.S. Border Patrol staff also participated in the Fallen Agent Tree program. Implemented by Tucson Sector, this program honors agents who have lost their lives by providing for their families.

“We are grateful for our communities.  Opportunities to give in this way bring us joy,” said Tucson Sector Chief Patrol Agent Rodolfo Karisch. “I’m proud of the selfless spirit of the men and women of the U.S. Border Patrol. I find it’s prevalent all year round, but particularly inspiring during this time of year.”

The Angel and Fallen Agent Trees represent many ways U.S. Border Patrol employees support local communities in which they live and work.

Tucson Sector Border Patrol thanks the southern Arizona organizations who helped facilitate the Christmas donations, including: Devereux Foster Care of Arizona, The Giving Turtle, Tohono O'Odham Nation Charities, Fallen Agents Fund, and Sierra Vista Child and Family Resources.
