Previously Convicted Sex Offender Arrested by Border Patrol

TUCSON, Ariz. - Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents arrested a previously convicted sex offender near Nogales, Arizona, Friday night.

On December 27, at approximately 10 p.m., agents apprehended 40-year-old Manuel Todelo-Gebara after he illegally entered the United States. Records checks revealed Todelo-Gebara, a Mexican National, was convicted of sexual assault by Cook County, Illinois, in 2004. He was sentenced to five years in prison before being deported to Mexico. 

Todelo-Gebara will face federal prosecution for immigration violations.

All persons apprehended by the U.S. Border Patrol undergo criminal history checks using biometrics to ensure illegal aliens with criminal histories are positively identified.
