“Our CBP officers did an excellent job in intercepting these drugs and preventing them from going any further,” said Port Director John Brandt, Eagle Pass Port of Entry. “The teamwork they put forth every day helps to keep dangerous drugs off our streets.”

On Aug. 14, CBP officers at Eagle Pass International Bridge I inspected a 2013 Dodge Durango as it applied for entry from Mexico. Using a non-intrusive imaging system for inspection, officers retrieved three packages hidden in the console of the vehicle. Officers seized a total of 8.9 pounds of alleged heroin worth an estimated $202,000.

The male driver, a 24-year-old U.S. citizen and resident of Eagle Pass, was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations for federal prosecution.
