TUCSON, Ariz. – In an effort to encourage communication between agents and community, the Nogales Border Patrol Station and Nogales Police Department are co-hosting a “Coffee with a Cop” event on January 31. Members of the community are invited to join cops and agents at El Zarape restaurant located at 694 N Grand Ave, Nogales, Arizona 85621 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

“Coffee with a Cop” is a national campaign that began in 2011 as a way for law enforcement to interact with the citizens and communities they serve. These informal gatherings build trust and relationships between law enforcement and community stakeholders.

The event will give attendees a chance to ask questions and discuss issues of concern with Border Patrol agents and Nogales Police officers.

Border Patrol is dedicated to reducing illicit activity along border communities, and committed to fostering and contributing to the local communities in which they serve and reside.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials welcome assistance from the community. Citizens can report suspicious activity to the Border Patrol and remain anonymous by calling 1-877-872-7435 toll free.
