TUCSON, Ariz. –U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at Arizona’s Port of Nogales arrested a United States citizen Tuesday night for attempting to smuggle heroin on her person.
CBP officers at the DeConcini Crossing referred a 30-year-old woman for further inspection and found one package concealed in her groin area, identified as nearly half a pound of heroin worth more than $12,000.
Officers seized the drugs and arrested the woman. She was then turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
