TUCSON, Ariz. – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a 65-year-old Mexican man Friday (Dec.11) for an alleged attempt to smuggle nearly 77 pounds of marijuana through the Port of Naco.

Officers selected Victor Manuel Avechuco-Quiligua, of Cananea, Sonora, Mexico, for further inspection of his Ford truck and found multiple packages of marijuana within the bed wall and fuel tank.

Officers seized the drugs and vehicle, and referred Avechuco to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
