LUKEVILLE, Ariz. — A 61-year-old Phoenix area man was arrested Monday at the Port of Lukeville in connection with a failed drug-smuggling attempt.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers referred the Glendale resident for additional inspection of his recreational vehicle; during which officers located 27 bundles of marijuana weighing nearly 608 pounds.
The drugs, valued at an estimated $304,000, and vehicle were processed for seizure. The subject was referred to U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
