Citizen Academy graduates

Laredo, Texas – Laredo Sector Border Patrol culminated the first Citizens Academy for 2016. This program is designed to provide interested residents with an inside look at the Border Patrol in Laredo, Texas.  Participants became familiar with CBP’s mission and each component’s distinctive roles and responsibilities to secure America’s borders. Participants toured the border and had an opportunity to volunteer in interactive demonstrations, such as riverine operations, search and rescue, self-defense, canine program and station tours.

Classes met from 5:30 to 8:30p.m., every Tuesday from January 26 to March 22.  Applications for the next session are being accepted at the Laredo Sector Border Patrol Headquarters, 207 W. Del Mar. Participants are urged to sign up early due to limited space.  A limited background check is required.

Questions can be directed to Laredo Sector Border Community Liaison Office, (956) 764-3107.
