Laredo Sector Border Patrol Holds Distinguished Awards and Promotion Ceremony
LAREDO, Texas – On October 16, with family, friends and fellow employees present, the Laredo Sector Border Patrol held a distinguished award and promotion ceremony honoring over 80 Border Patrol agents and professional staff at the United Independent School District’s Student Activity Center in Laredo, Texas.
The special ceremony recognized Border Patrol agents who have gone beyond the call of duty to preserve life and assist others, while securing the border and keeping our communities safe. A special recognition award was given to six agents who were honored with commendation medals for exceptional meritorious achievement, heroism, and heroism with valor. Chief Patrol Agent Felix Chavez presented the honorees with badges, certificates and prestigious awards. “It takes courage and diligence to be a Border Patrol Agent. I want to thank you for the dependability you bring to the workplace and thank you for you selflessness,” said Chief Chavez.
The ceremony recognized those that were promoted to a higher rank or position, to include time in service milestone awards to employees with 25 and 35 years of service.
Distinguished guests at the ceremony included leadership from the Laredo Sector, Office of Field Operations along with representatives from U.S. Representative Henry Cuellar’s Office, Webb County Sheriff’s Office, Webb County Constable’s Office, the City of Laredo Police Department, and the United Independent School District’s Police Department and Board of Trustees.
