Laredo Sector Border Patrol Agents Arrest Subjects Involved in Bank Robbery

LAREDO, Texas – On February 6, 2018, Border Patrol agents arrested six subjects involved in a bank robbery in Laredo, Texas.  Border Patrol agents were placed on high alert after receiving information from the Laredo Police Department of a robbery in progress in Laredo, Texas.  Less than an hour later, Agents at the Border Patrol Checkpoint on Highway 59 encountered a black Toyota Camry at the primary inspection lane.  The driver and four passengers were referred to secondary inspection after a Border Patrol canine alerted to the vehicle and matching the description of a lookout from the Laredo Police Department.

A further search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of $88,220.00 in currency located inside the trunk.  The driver and four passengers, all United States Citizens, were arrested.  A sixth person was also arrested at the Border Patrol Checkpoint in connection with the bank robbery.  The subjects, currency and two vehicles were turned over to the Laredo Police Department.

Owens of the Laredo Sector Border Patrol.
