LAREDO, Texas – On February 26, 2018, Border Patrol agents arrested Leonias Guillen-Morales, a Mexican National, who was previously convicted as a Sex Offender back in 2010 in Webb County.  Guillen-Morales was encountered on Highway 359 after Border Patrol agents responded to assist Officers from the Texas Department of Public Safety in Laredo, Texas.  Guillen-Morales also had a felony conviction for aggravated robbery in 2011 and was sentenced to five years in prison for that offense.  Guillen-Morales will be processed accordingly for his illegal entry into the United States.

“The arrest of this criminal alien and preventing him from committing another heinous crime is just another example that illustrates how the United States Border Patrol keeps our communities safe,” said Laredo Sector Assistant Chief Patrol Agent Gabriel Acosta.

To report suspicious activity such as alien and/or drug smuggling, contact the Laredo Sector Border Patrol toll free telephone number at 1-800-343-1994.  All people apprehended by the Border Patrol undergo criminal history checks using biometrics to ensure illegal aliens with criminal histories are positively identified.
