LAREDO, Texas – On June 6, 2016, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Border Patrol agents from the Laredo Sector Border Patrol apprehended a suspected bank robber.
Border Patrol agents assigned to the Laredo North Border Patrol Station conducted a vehicle stop on a vehicle near mile marker 41 on Interstate Highway 35. Border Patrol agents proceeded with an immigration inspection of the occupants in the vehicle. A total of three occupants were in the car when the agent noticed one of the passengers resembled a suspect wanted by Laredo Police Department for a bank robbery that had occurred June 3, 2016 in Laredo, Texas.
The Encinal Police Department and La Salle County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene to investigate further. The subject was transported to the IH-35 U.S Border Patrol Checkpoint for further questioning. The subject was turned over to Laredo Police Department who is continuing the investigation.
Through the keen observation of our Border Patrol agent and the continued inter-agency collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, the suspect was successfully apprehended.
