Laredo Sector Border Community Liaison Program and Canine Unit participated in the City of Laredo Health Department’s Nutrifit Kids Summer Camp

LAREDO, Texas –The Laredo Sector Border Community Liaison Program and Canine Unit participated in the City of Laredo Health Department’s Nutrifit Kids Summer Camp on Wednesday, June 6, 2018. The camp was open to kids ages 4-8 currently enrolled in the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program which emphasizes nutrition, education, and physical activity.

Thirty kids observed a demonstration by Border Patrol Canine Handler Flores, along with canine Kay. They received a first- hand experience of what canine Kay does to help the U.S. Border Patrol keep our nation safe.

Agents from the Border Community Liaison Program educated the kids on the importance of physical fitness activities in their daily life. The agents also emphasized the Stay Drug-Free message.
