HAVANA, Texas – Joint U.S. Border Patrol, Texas Army National Guard (TXARNG) and Government of Mexico efforts lead to a successful rescue of a lost subject suffering from dehydration.

The rescue occurred yesterday when Border Patrol Agents (BPAs) from the McAllen Station received information relayed from Mexico’s 911-call center regarding a lost Mexican national who was in distress near Havana, Texas.

Agents operating an aerostat camera scanned the location where the subject was last known to be and located him. Agents provided coordinates to a nearby TXARNG helicopter pilot, working under Operation Guardian Support, and minutes later, the TXARNG pilot located the subject and quickly guided nearby agents to the location.

At the scene, a BPA, who is a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), evaluated the subject and determined he was suffering from dehydration. The adult Mexican national was treated at the scene for dehydration.

The subject will be processed accordingly.
