Border Patrol stops a $2.5M cocaine load in the Rio Grande Valley

SARITA, Texas – On Friday, agents working the Sarita Checkpoint referred a Dodge Caravan to the secondary inspection area to further question the immigration status of an occupant inside the vehicle. During the secondary inspection, agents discovered 30 bricks of cocaine weighing over 75 pounds and worth over $2.5M.

 Both the driver and occupant were taken into custody.

This case is currently under investigation by Homeland Security Investigations.
