Human smuggler flees Rio Grande Valley checkpoint
FALFURRIAS, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents foiled a human smuggling attempt at an immigration checkpoint.
Friday evening, agents working at the Falfurrias checkpoint referred a four-door sedan to secondary after a Border Patrol K-9 alert. The driver of the sedan disregarded the agent’s referral and proceeded northbound at a high rate of speed. Agents immediately began to follow the vehicle, which eventually stopped. Inside the trunk, agents discovered two illegal aliens and subsequently arrested the driver.
Agents referred the case for prosecution.
